Our Mission and Values

What’s Cedar Hills Church all about? What creates the Sunday morning experience? And what shapes what we do as a church throughout the week?

Our mission guides everything we do; our core values shape how we function; our model describes our growth environments; our core beliefs tie us to the historic Christian faith.

our mission
As a church family, we’ve lasered in on a primary purpose: introducing people to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. That’s it—that’s what we’re all about. We consistently strive to live out the mission as individuals and as a church family.

our core values
A core value is a big idea that guides our thoughts and actions. Out of hundreds of potential values, we’ve chosen seven core values that describe the personality of Cedar Hills. The combination of these values gives our church family its uniqueness.

core values

process
Anything of significance takes time to develop. We choose to honor people where they are today and encourage each person to make progress on his/her spiritual journey.

growing devotion to Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ transforms us over time. As we know Christ more and choose to obey his teaching, our heart, mind and actions become more like his.

unchurched people
Since people outside a relationship with Jesus Christ matter to God, we are relentlessly outward focused.

intentionality
Everything we do has a purpose. We design every environment with the participants in mind.

authenticity
We’re totally honest about who we are—the good, the bad, and the ugly.

simplicity
We focus for effectiveness and keep the message of Christ uncomplicated. Less is more.

relationships
We’re created to know and be known by others. We encourage and challenge everyone to make spiritual progress as we do life with others.

New addition to CHC Team

Evelyn Raebel is the newest addition to our Cedar Hills Staff team.  As our Student Life Leader she will be facilitating our Middle School and High School Ministry.  Evelyn grew up in Havre, Montana. She went to college in Minot, ND and then went on to Minneapolis for her 6 year sales career.   Through a series of events, during this time the Lord called her into ministry.  Evelyn then move to Coeur d'Alene and began ministry with her church and Young Life.  She then married Alan Raebel, a Cedar Hills member, in March of 2009 and started transitioning ministry to Sandpoint.  Evelyn has been volunteering with Collide, our Middle School joint outreach on Wednesdays, and is looking forward to the role of Student Life Leader here at Cedar Hills.
